help on fail to fire

My S&W 41 has started to go click and the hammer and sear are still engaged with out a hammer drop,what is going on?

Check the trigger stop screw adjustment.

Not sure if this applies...but make sure the safety did not engage. The small plate and screw that secure the safety lever can loosen and hold up the works.
Maybe the mag safety is sticking.
Did you give it a good cleaning?
