The Cascades visited our base in Thailand in 1968 and put on a great show. They were apparently dog tired and the CO kept calling for encores. They were good sports about it though.

Wow! Made my evening here in rainy Georgia.

Thanks for posting. I LOVE that song.

Glad to see those old farts can still kick azzzz. Makes us other old farts feel younger too!

Dude!

You must be OLD. I remember my grandad said he had a "makeout" to that tune. Pitter-Patter.:D

Im in the middle of building a tube fired amp.
This is an ideal test piece for such a project.
"TOOOOB moozic" as us volt heads like to call it

That group came to a FOB where we were staging for an insert into the A Shau Valley in Vietnam. They played that song about five times, rolled up their insturments and climbed back onto a couple of slicks and left. My mother wrote me after Christmas and ask if I had gotten to see Bob Hope. I told her, not this tour.

The only folks that got to see Bob Hope were the REMFs in the Major Bases. Not the Animals in the Field.

What firebase. I was in and out of the Au Shau valley several times in 1969. I saw the Bob Hope Christmas show at Camp Eagle. I was in the 3/5 Cav. Only a few of us got to go. My LT pulled some strings.
