I have read several places that the 629-4 is the first with endurance package. This should be more robust, but MIM parts started soon after. I have a couple, and they seem OK, but I generally seem to think earlier is better. I know it is just prejudice. JMHO and it is worth what it cost.

Good luck with your search, people are catching on and going after the old S&Ws, they also like the shorter barrels. Gee thats what I like too! Happy Hunting!
