Hi I have been a long time lurker. I helped a buddy do a lot for work at his house. He gave me this gun its a 29-2 with a 6 1/2" barrel I have no case or papers. I would rate the gun at 95%? They serial is N2188X under the hinge. I had a option between this gun and a 8 3/8" 29-3 but the finish was a little less on the 29-3. I am thinking it was made before 71' ?

Here are some pictures.

Thanks a bunch! I hope to enjoy this gun a lot. Hopefully it will have many more friends soon. :)

Welcome aboard!

Congratulations! That is a fine old gun, and I would have happily taken that in place of cash. :)

You chose very well, IMHO. Your revolver has the desireable "pinned and recessed" features, which a 29-3 would not have. Also, the longer barrel models are usually sold for a little less on the open market, although they do have their adherents.

You have made a lot of us green with envy. Congratulations.

Nice looking 29-2 that I am sure you will be happy with. I have N214XX and N212xx that were shipped in September and October 1972, respectively. I am sure your 29-2 was shipped about the same time.
