Not quite sure what I did but I was deciding to see what did and didn't come off of my Smith and Wesson M&P 40c and I think I messed something up. I took out the pin that was under the take down lever and discovered that it was connected to one end of the spring that was on the trigger. To say that I had a hell of a time getting it back in and aligned with the spring looped around the pin would be an understatement. However, I finally got it back in and swore never to take that thing out again. However, now the take down lever has no tension and the slide does not rack properly.

Is the pin somehow related to the take down lever? How would I go about fixing this? Is there an exploded diagram of this mechanism that I could look at somewhere? Thanks for any help.

Sincerely yours,

Strange...I think I may have accidentally fixed it and I'm not sure. With a snap cap it seems to be working fine now. Either way...be wary of breaking these down. They tend to get a bit messy. Ha!
