Any pro's or con's on a Model 34 2"? Local shop has one and wants $400 for it. I think that is a bit much. Finish is about 95% and no box, original grips. Have a 317 2" already, but this one seems to be calling.

I bought a pre-model 34 for a similar price, similar condition.

It's a great little gun with an amazing trigger.

Do I 'need' it? No, but I like having it. I shoot the K-22 more often (Combat Masterpiece) but for a walk in the woods 22, the little 34 would be much easier. There is a reason they called 'em 'kit guns', right?

I have a nickel 34 - 1 with a 2 inch barrel and I really like it. It is very accurate, but it takes a lot of concentration with the short sight radius. I carry it occasionally when I go for a walk or am small game hunting, but more than often I carry something a little larger. I have a model 37 and the model 34 is a nice gun to practice with because of the cheaper ammunition cost.

I don't know what your interpretation of 95% is, some people are a lot harder on a guns appearance and some a lot more forgiving. However $400 does not seem like a bad price. I've seen very nice blued examples selling for $500 and up. Anyway I don't think you'll be disappointed with it, if you buy it.
