As many of you know, I just recently picked up a model 645 from days gone by. I love the 645 if for no other reason than sentimentally, being that it was the very first auto I ever carried on duty.

However...

I don't know if 18/19 years of totin' a Glock has ruined my grip or what, but the ol' 645 just dosen't "feel" quite like it used to. It seems a little skinny or something.

Instead of ditching the mighty 645, I decided that maybe I need to try some other grip(s) but...what are my options?

So far, all I'm seeing is wooden panels by Hogue. I really didn't wanna go with wood. Why Hogue doesn't make rubber panels for the 645 is beyond me, but still...does anybody make rubber panels for it?

I know Pachmayr used to, but their website says they don't.

Anybody have any other ideas?

Thanks in advance. :D

I put pachmayr"s on mine. I think they might have been listed for a different 2nd generation, but I can't recall, maybe a 659.

They came with a rear gripstrap cover, which I didn't use.

They seem to solve the slick problem just fine.

Do they "widen" up the girth of the grip any? It's not so much the grip is slick, it's just a little skinny in the palm area.

645

i have pachmayers on mine, they were on the gun when i got it they add some girth to the gun as the factory plastics were too thin.
there maybe some availible from old stock at some of the dealers like brownell's

Yea...

me too !! Been on the gun since 1985...kept the originals too.

Yes, they widen the grip. And if you use the front grip frame cover, they are much mor hand filling, like a boot grip or t grip on a revolver.

Pachmayr still shows they make grips for the 645, in the model with the backstrap cover. I don't that is a one piece, ie you can use the grip without the backstrap. That is what I did.

But you could just try a slip on sleeve on top of the stock grips, might do the same. I use this on a few others I have.

I just got my first 645 and it came with Pachmayr grips which are fairly thick. Maybe we can work out a swap.

I have seen folks take the Pachmayrs that cover either the front or rear gripstraps and cut them apart, discarding the front or back. It seems to work just fine.

Well, as luck would have it, I traded this 645 back to the guy for my 4566 that I had before.

It just feels better and points better than the 645.

I need to just put my sentimentals for the 645 away, I guess, and tote this 4566.
