Would anyone know about or have seen one of these?

"S&W 669 9mm 1 of 100 1985 D/A stainless steel 3.5" barrel. Red line ramp with white outline fixed combat sights factory grips 13 round . engraved with GOLD inlay on right side of slide MODEL 669 1985 LIMITED EDITION 1 OF 100."

What was special about this and does it have any real value beyond another 669?

The first 100 669s were made for Lew Horton per the Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson in October 1985. The first serial numbers were TAK if I remember correctly. If you are looking at the two guns on Gunbroker I think the SN is TAE which would point to a very early production gun. I have been looking at both 669s and wondering myself if these are the Lew Horton guns.

Yes, that is where I saw them. It looks like the higher priced one has been there a while but the second one just popped up and is priced in line with other 669's. I was wondering if the price difference was real or someone's hope.
As stated many times here, I guess it is worth it if you want it. The bidding will reflect the real value.
