I have a model 10-5 that has 6 inch heavy barrel marked national police supply , it is about the same diameter as a quarter and it has a bo-mar rail sight on top with adj. sights and the front sight has hoods on each side extreamly heavy rig. IT also came with a special holster to accomodate the large barrel, it is marked RENO- OKEECHOBEE, FLA. I would appreciate any input about the history of this revolver. thanks Geraldo

Your revolver stated out as a factory 10-5 Military and Police model. It has been rebarrreled with the heavy barrel and Bomar rib for PPC (Police Pistol Competition) target shooting.

Besides PPC, you could probably also it to shot ICOR and USPSA.

weird 10-5

Can you tell me app. how many were made, and were there a certain gunsmith who modified these guns and his location.

There were (and still are) quite a few gunsmiths who did this kind of modification. PPC competition was very popular in the 1960s and '70s and many guns (thousands)? were modified for it; it being custom, one-at-a-time work, I doubt anyone has an exact number.

Your best bet to find who did the work on your gun would be to ask the gun's previous owner if you can find him/her.

weird 10-5

Thanks for the information ! a few more questions, does these guns have any collector value and what would be the market price on a 85% gun?
