I've searched all over and cant really find what I am looking for. I'm looking for a Small of the Back concealment holster for my M&P 40c. I had hopes that I may find one with a strap snap for retention in public places and not IWB. Does anyone have any suggestions? I apologize if this has been asked before but i could not find anything. Thanks!

No apology necessary on this site...we're all "friends" here. Read down the list for a thread that silvercn posted about holsters for S&W M&P. Not sure where you live, but I have found that deeper concealment is required for CCW, and therefore, an IWB holster is necessary, especially in the summer. An OWB will be ok in the fall/winter season when you have a jacket on. I don't have any probs with my 40c being holstered in a kydex IWB holster with no thumb strap. There's a photo of my setup on the thread mentioned above.

Thanks. you think a lefty IWB would work for the small of the back?

I don't see why not, however, I'm not sure why your asking this question. Is it because:
- You're right handed and want to locate the holster gun/on your (weak) left hand side?
- Your strong side is your left hand?

Whatever the reason for (LH) holster location, it shouldn't make a difference. If your strong (draw) hand is RH, and you want to cross draw, you probably would not want to locate it at the small of your back, i.e. "8 o'clock". If you still want a LH IWB, just make sure that you purchase a LH holster.

No he wants the gun sitting vertically with the bottom of the mag pointing to his right.
