My wife was afraid of guns and recoil. We'd go out to the family farm to shoot. She would shoot her M10-5 all over the paper at 7 yards. So I got her a 3913LS - She was worse with it... Then, one evening, we went to an indoor range and she saw GIRLS shooting, and shooting very well. That's all it took to get rid of the fear factor - I was surprised.
Once she got past the fear she improved steadily.
Last Saturday she put 10 out of 12 in the 10 ring shooting my 686 with 357 Mags! I wanted to keep the target, but she wants 12/12. No doubt she'll reach her goal soon :)

She's also decided that she just doesn't like semi-autos - So I guess it's time to sell the 3913 :( I'd keep it for me, but I'm just not a 9mm fan.

The NRA has a great Women on Target course designed to inspire confidence in beginning women shooters.

Aloha,

You should Not show her any BBQ guns, it can get very expensive real fast.

Don't ask how I know this.....

Then again, I'd rather buy her guns than jewelry.

She's one of those folks that just is not into bling - Period.
Works for me. :)

Hey - If good looks were one of her requirements it wouldn't be me taking her to the range - Or anywhere else for that matter.
