Levon Helm Rocks Floyd Fest 9!

We've had a little party here just off the Blue Ridge Parkway for the past 9 years, but this year, Floyd Fest really took off big time with the appearance of Levon Helm.

Levon's taking better care of his voice these days, but I have to tell you, he hasn't lost a step. Really a great performance that gave those of us old enough to remember more than a tingle of the Band when they were in their heyday.

Used to watch him and Robbie Roberson practice with the "Hawks" down in Helena, Arkansas.
Levon is the real deal, think he's playing in NYC tonight with Willie at RCMH.

He's making a pass through Texas in the fall and I was wondering if he was singing much yet?

As you can see in the clip, he's got some help, but he sang a lot and did lead on a couple of tunes. If you've got the chance to see him, I'd go.
