I bought an LCR today on a whim. I bought the model with the XS night sight and boot grip.

I've dry fired it extensively, but not live fire. I love the LCR - except the trigger reset. The reset feels like the a J Frame that has the weakest trigger return spring from a Wolf reduced power spring kit. That - coupled with a longer reset that a J - induces me to short stroke it regularly.

It's fine if I slow [dry] fire, but dry firing at speed - a speed at which one would shoot in a defensive situation - makes me short stroke.

I dry fired the LCR back-to-back with my J's - and I don't short stroke the J's even when pulling the trigger as fast as I can.

The trigger return spring is not like a J - not sure how to explain it. A snubbie is meant for CCW IMO - and Murphy's Law being what it is - I don't need a snubbie that I regularly short stroke.

Yes - I could train with it and probably get used to it, but I have a lot of time and rounds through a J Frame and I don't see the benefit.

My search for a better mousetrap just bought me a mousetrap that doesn't work for me.

Oh well - anyone got a Glock 26 from trade :D

I would put some rounds through it on the range just to try it out. At least you can get the full experience of it, even if you will never like the trigger. It's a used gun now either way.

There are other options out there, Kel Tecs, Kahrs... I'm sure you will find one eventually you like. I am enjoying and carrying a PF-9 currently.

Don't give up on it yet. My LCR will make a 12oz. can dance a jig at 15-20 yds. with my wadcutter reloads.
