Total S&W Noob with an early onset K frame addiction here :)

I just bought another S&W 64 and am looking for some rubber grips that a) cover the backstrap and b) fit a medium size hand and c) are comfortable to shoot. Concealability is not a major concern since my other 64 has #306 CTC grips for carry. I was looking into Pach Gripper or Decelerators and I really liked the Presentation grip on a Colt Det. Spec. Anyway, any input would be greatly appreciated.

I own a S&W 64 as well I got the Pachmayr Pro Gripper grips feel great. My gun was manufactured in 91 they were the stock grips at the time and just bought a new set they are wonderful.

If it's a square butt Model 64, I've always liked the Pachmayr presentation grips. Good Luck,

Jerry

When it comes to rubber grips, nothing feels better to me than Pachmayer Pro Grippers.

Thank you for the input. Does anybody have any experience with the Trausch grips - they sound worth exploring. Also, if you have a picture of one on a K-frame I would really appreciate it.

The Pach Pro Grippers are still in the running though.

Trausch

I had a set of Trausch grips. They're kind of a rubber ambidexterious semi-target style grip. Very comfortable, but "funky" looking. Here a picture of them on a M66-4.

If it's a round butt grip frame, like the current 64-8 models and the current 10's, etc, it came with Uncle Mike's squared Combats, a two piece set that covers the backstrap. Here they are - the OEM grips - on my 64-8 from a couple of years back:

I bought them from S&W Accessories years ago - ~$28 then - for my 696, which came with the rounded version. Check with S&W!

Thank you. I kinda like the Trausch grips - but I like different :). From what I can tell they only fit the sq butt models - is that correct.

I still have a set of the Uncle Mikes and kinda liked them - they were just a hair too big and a gap in the back strap part dug into my hands.

I am looking into the Trauschs but may end up with Pach grippers or compacts after all.

I have a set of Traush on my PPC gun, they helped with the recoil on my sore old hands. Also have a set that came factory on my Manurin MR73. Yes they fit the square butt.

i have pachmayr presentation grips on my S&W model 64. the small size. part # SK-S. these have not been made in several years, but come up for sale on the auction sites from time to time. these grips fit my hand as if they were custom made.

I bought my 64-3 yesterday and put the pac's on it.

the best answer is I don't know.I picked them up and they were in a plastic bag and not marked.sorry

I like the Uncle Mikes grips over Pachmayer and Hogues and I have a medium large hand. I also think they look the best,..... if there is a way for rubber to look good.
