I've been looking for a red dot sight for my 22A. The Walther Top Point 2 Red Dot Sight has been mentioned in a few other forums. I was curious to know if anyone had any experience with this sight, or could even recommend something different for around $40-50. I'm pretty sure the sight will fit onto my 22A as is has Weaver/Picatinny mounts.

Thanks in advance!

I am not familiar with that one, but the Millet red dot (variable dot size) was $79.95 when I bought it, and am perfectly satisfied with it. Will withstand the recoil of a 44 mag, but is mounted on my .22 target pistol. Mine came from Midway, but available from many places.

I have a TruGlo 30mm Red Dot for my 22A, which I picked up at WalMart for about $30-35. They had several different models on the shelf, but I think this was the least expensive. I had never had one before, so I wanted to see how it worked before I put too much money into it. I found that it fits great on the Weaver style mounting system of the 22A, and I think most other models will also. The best thing about it is that it improves the sight picture greatly over the std sights on my gun, which were hard for me to see in the range. I would recommend one, as it really makes the shooting more enjoyable.

I have the Millett 3MOA dot on my 22A. It helps a lot with aging eyes, but any dot sight will tend to give a "top-heavy" feel to a light weight gun such as the 22A; it is hard to describe, but it can be mitigated with a lot of practice. I notice it much more when I pick up the 22A after handling some stuff with old fashioned irons.

Any of the tube style red dots do tend to make 22a's top heavy
My 22a with a Burris fastfire 2 does not feel top heavy at all
