I bought a load of nickle brass 38 spl on GB. Most of it is W-W winchester,And mixed in is Western and then, High velocity, which I never heard of. And a few R-P, But there are some cases that are stamped S&W 38 spl. Did S&W ever make their own brass?

S&W had Fiochi make brass for them and later aquired the American Fiochi plant to produce S&W-Fiochi pistol ammunition.

S&W used Canadian-made Dominion brass in rifle calibers.

JT gave you the correct answer that you needed, but I thought I'd throw this out there too.

I have some in .44 magnum that I regularly use. It has been in use for a long time too, and is holding up quite well.

I sent some to forum member shooboy to use in his shoo-rod prop rods. I have one he sent me with my brass in it. It is cool looking, and there are others on this forum who have .44 magnum shoo-rods that are now enjoying my brass too, so it is really living a long life.:D

I believe the plant was actually the old Alcan plant in Alton, IL that was purchased by S&W and Fiocchi in 1971 as a joint venture.
