Finally someone putting a good scope on a 15-22 instead of a cheap knock off.

huh? You did read this part, right?

primary Arms may be among the best cheap knockoffs, but they are cheap knockoffs nonetheless.

You did click the link, right? ;)
It was a nikon riflescope product, not the PA reddots or magnifiers. They do sell other items.

Currently I am looking into adding a riflescope as well, I decided to give up on the cheap china crap and get a well made riflescope. What rings are you getting?

Click on the Link! He's buying a Nikon scope designed for the AR platform.

I got a $30 red dot on mine and I bet I put rounds on target with it just as well as anyone with a $400 Aimpoint. If its a cheap knockoff who cares, if it does its job...

And I bet the "glass" is real clear like an Aimpoint also!

at least it isn't a $500 trijicon reflex with a 4 or 8 MOA dot (can you say inaccurate? what a waste!) I bet a $40 cheapo 1 MOA will outshoot it at 100 yards.

Dude, what's with the attitude? You'd think anyone who doesn't want to spend a minimum of $300 on a scope for a .22 plinker is throwing money away reading your posts.

Lighten up. These are range guns and small critter killers, not weapons to bet your life on.

Ya know, I really never thought I'd encounter optics snobs on a forum dedicated to a .22 rifle.

Seriously, a $400 red-dot on a .22 that ain't exactly a match-grade rifle that will also never see a combat environment?

I personally think the scope he got was more scope than the rifle calls for (he could have gotten the 2-8x40 and saved $100), but hey it's his cash.

It's just the Reelman way, he's never changed his viewpoint as long as I've been here.

All I'm saying is regardless of it being a whats in your opinion "real" optic I make groups just the same with my $30 red dot as I would with a $400 Aimpoint or Eo. Believe it or not the glass is perfectly clear on this optic. I can see through it and make good groups. All I'm saying is its not the price of something that matters, its how it performs.

Red dot's are easy to make clear, it's a few pieces of flat glass with some anti-glare treatment. An actual magnified scope is where you will see a difference in quality between a low priced and a high priced scope.

I've looked through a $1400.00 ACOG and yes it's clear.... Dang well should be... But I have no issue hitting small clay pigeons @ 220 yards with my cheap NcStar (and everyone at the range commented on how clear it was) :)

Point me to one

grimreaper, can you give me a link to a cheapo 1 MOA red dot? Personally, I've never seen one but would like to.

BEcause I've learned the hard way that cheap scopes are just that - cheap! Yes it's only a 22 but it's also probably the gun you shoot the most so why put a cheapo scope on something you shoot all the time and then put a good scope on your deer rifle that you shoot once or twice a year?

If you want to put a cheapo counterfiet scope on your rifle that's your choice, I'm just pointing out that it's nice to see someone actually put a good scope on a rifle for a change.

I think we just have different opinions on what good means. To me, an optic is good if it helps me to align my barrel and put bullets where I want them to go. My $60 3-9x42 scope and my $30 red dot do just that. Once i got them zeroed my rounds go exactly where the crosshair or dot is pointed. If I thought that a more expensive scope would make my groups tighter I'd get one...But the truth is they aren't getting any tighter if I switch optics. Only thing thats gonna get my groups tighter is me getting out, shooting, and working on my skills. Thats more important than any optic.
