MODEL 49 BLUE ENGRAVED

I was in a pawn shop today and spotted a model 49 that was engraved very handsomely. Asking price $899. This place had more guns than I have ever seen in a pawn shop and all were priced high. On the way home I kept thinking about that 49 and began to wonder if it was factory done maybe it was worth $1500 even if it might be wo box. Anyone help me on the value of this like new gun???

I love the model 49's and would love to have one that was engraved by the factory, even though I've never seen one.

To answer your question, you'll have to wait on more knowledgeable folks here to help. However, they need to know who engraved the revolver and how much engraving it actually has. Pictures are wihout a doubt the best way.

Is there an id on the serial # that would indicate factory job? or is it only the box?
