I did the same thing with my 442. Very big difference!

I use appliance touch-up paint in flat white. It seems to "stick" fine and helps my aging eyes.

All of my revolver front sights have been painted orange. I like fingernail polish, and my current bottle of the stuff is a color they called "Mango". Cheap, and available in hundreds of shades at WalMart.

Question for those painting color (red, orange); what kind of paint do you use? The appliance touch-up stays on but only comes in white.

+1 on front sight paint for old eyes. I've got a hardware store by me that's got a big hobby dept. Hundrends of paints to choose from. After trying several, I settled for one made by Model Master. It's called Model Master Acryl. Color is "Flourescent Red 1/2 (NK)". I also have their "Custom Enamel System - Flourescent Red" which is a redder paint than the Acryl line. The Flourescent red Acryl paint is more of an orange and grabs my eyes better. It doesn't come off unless you work to get it off.
I've applied it to several guns. My old eyes grab that color instantly. You just have to try a few and see what your eyes see best. I used to hunt with a guy that anytime he shot something that left a blood trail, I'd have to track it for him because he couldn't see red. For people like him, a green or yellow paint would probably be better.

I used florescent orange lure paint and that worked well. With my eyes I'm lucky to be able to tell if I have a front sight or not. This helped the issue. Just remember, we're in this together.

Man, am I glad I ran across this thread....when I looked at and bought my 360, I never gave a thought to the front sight in a nice bright store; but when I went to the (indoor) range, I had an awful time seeing the front sight (old guy here)...I looked for a Trijicon style sight that would fit the gun, but couldn't find one....only other solution was to "paint" my front sight, but wasn't sure how it would look...now I know...only question now is, what color of my wife's nail polish will I be using.
