Sorry, but this picture was stolen from another thread here on the forum. Does anyone know what grips these are?

Yep to all the Spegel replies. Looks like quarter sawn cocobolo in one of his premium grades with the best plug match I've ever seen.
 
On a Centennial the grips can come up higher on the frame as oppossed to an external hammer J frame.

Take a look at the Altamont grips pic. See how the grip stops without going any higher than the cylinder latch? Compare that with the Spegels that come up all the way to the top of the frame, past the cylinder latch.

It allows you to grip the revolver higher and helps some with recoil control.

I'll second that! Based on the picture... if you didn't know, you'd never know!

In case you don't know, Spegel grips have a wood plug covering the threaded escutcheon (nut). I don't see a seam and I don't see any break in the grain and those are spectacular.
