I just picked it up today and couldn't be happier. Great trigger right out of the box. Not gritty, great pull. Did about 200 dry-fires with snap caps. I really think this is one that won't need 1,000 dry fires to smooth out the trigger. This is my first NIB.

Congrats, great gun. I have an older satin nickle model that goes w/me most days.

Nice buy! Interesting, I bought a no lock 442 last year and it also has a good DA trigger pull right out of the box too.

I picked up a 642 today NIB, I'm really impressed with the trigger also. I did oil it and do about 300 dry fires throughout the day, but it was great right out of the box.

Nice buy, I like mine so far, just picked up a 638, silver with the short hammer and put 100 rounds through it. after reading Dragons post, I decided to take the side cover off and see what to oil.. that was my first time in one of these... opps, some little lever showed up on the mat... I figured it out and decided to just put it back together for tonite... :D

The hammer block? It comes out easily but goes back in easily if you know how it sits. I removed the grips and cylinder assembly, but saw no need to pop the side plate. I sprayed plenty of oil in there and it was oozing out while drying firing. Should be evenly distributed now.
