Hi all. Looking to buy my first S&W so I thought it would be a good idea to get as much info from the people who know the most.

Welcome to the forum from SE Michigan. It depends on a lot of things when you buy a handgun. First do you want a wheel gun or a pistol? What cal. do you want and what is the main use for the gun? When you go to your gun shop and start trying one on for size ask yourself does it feel comfortable? Then if you a spending a lot buy a couple I did and still doing it.
 
Welcome to the forum. You will find a lot of good information here. If you have the time and ability, try and shoot as many range guns or friends guns as possible, as this will make a difference in narrowing down you choice or final pick vs just holding a handgun from the show case. I have found by doing this I started off thinking one model was the right choice then finding out later it was not.
