Hello everyone. I'm brand new here. Discovered the forum in an article in Guns magazine about Resurrecting the Roper Grip. I love Smiths, but only have a couple, a Model 36 from the early '80s and a 625-5 that started life as a 625-3. It was converted at the Performance Center by another owner. It now has a blue cylinder and a 5" stainless full lug barrel. Nice action job and the trigger is a dream. I picked it up while I was cowboy action shooting and wanted the .45 Colt, though I couldn't use it for CAS. I love this pistol. I know, it's technically a revolver, but let's not get hung up on that. Bought the Model 36 from Nate Posner when there was a real gun shop in San Francisco. It replaced one I had years before but sold when I needed money. Big mistake. Took 3.5 times what I sold it for to replace it. NEVER sell a firearm. Anyway, I grew up in Virginia on a farm but now reside on the Central Coast of California. Also have some Rugers and a Glock, which is a sweet, easy shooter (heresy here I know, but that's what our Security uses where I work, though I'm not Security), but I'll always be a Smith man. Glad to find this forum. There's nothing like a real handgun, and that means a Smith & Wesson revolver.
