I'm about to pick up a K22 Masterpiece from 1947 and I'm curious what polish or wax you guys use to make your Smith's look so beautiful and shiney.

I also have a Combat Masterpiece (15-3) and a model 29-2 that I'd like to make pretty. :)

Thanks!

Flitz or Pre-Lim (made by the same folks as Renaissance Wax) and then finish off with Renaissance Wax.
I've also used a product called Simichrome with good luck on nickel guns. (I've never tried it on blue. Something about the name.:D)

HOLD ON deadite, your post war K-22 Masterpiece was probably NOT supposed to be bright and shiny. The dull, almost matte finish was standard on almost all post war K-frames unless you paid an extra option for bright and shiny. By the late 50s, I believe, they went back to more bright blue.
If it's the dull finish, just put some Renaissance wax on it. Others will chime in here.

Good point!
