Just picked this 617-4 with the long barrel
up this morning, and here are some photos as promised.
It came with Hogue grips, but I put some combat stocks
on it that I got from a fellow Forum member!
I also have a 17-3 long barrel, and I'll see if I can post
a photo of the two together that I took.

hmmmm

I was thinking of having my bbl changed out to a shorter length. Its sooo long.;) My father in law holds it like a rifle when he shoots it.:o

Congrats on the great looking thou beasty model 617. My 6 inch no dash 617 out weighs my 8 3/8 barreled Model 17-4.

Help your father-in-law keep his "other" hand safe; have him keep both hands behind the front of the cylinder :).

nice looking gun. i have a no dash 617 8 3/8...they are shooters!

My 8 3/8ths inch 617 no dash was my first new S&W revolver. They make wonderful range guns and good conversation starters too. Hand it off to a 44 Mag shooter and you'll hear 'Gezze! that thing is HEAVY:D'
