I have a chance to buy a NIB model 41 from a fellow I met. It is absolutely mint with the box and all the paper work & tools. Its an A series ,but no cocking indicator, 2 piece blue box in mint shape, and is wearing a 7 1/2" barrel but also has a new 5 1/2" barrel too. What should one expect to pay for such a nice example of this model. He is thinking $1000. . Is that about fair or a little high for no cocking indicator. Thanks for any help & all opinions. Charlie, Indpls.

The cocking indicator is WAY over-rated unless you are a collector and just want a feature that "dates" the pistol easier as being "old".

If it's truly NIB, and with the extra barrel, I'd go $1000 but wouldn't consider it a special deal, just a fair price.
At $850+- as NIB and extra barrel, it would be a very, very nice deal.
At $700+- as NIB and extra barrel, you would probably want to jump on it in a heartbeat.
