There are some things I am really good at, some things that I can do that most others can't do as well.

OTOH, based on my Thread about math and ethanol, you know that math is not one of those things.

Another thing I am a complete boob at dealing with are computers.

I have a MAC and it is driving me crazy (yeah, yeah, I know-not a long trip).

It keeps popping up this message "Can't find the keychain" and then asking if I want to cancel (which I do every time) or reset to defaults.

I should note that first the pop up asks for the keychain password. When I put in my only password, it says it can't find it.

I once pressed the reset to defaults, but then the darned thing asked if I was sure, that something would happen (not sure exactly what and it hasn't popped up yet today).

So, I want to be rid of this pop up message. I don't want to destroy my computer just to get rid of this annoying thing, though.

I have a password that I set when the computer was first activated. Once in a while, in the dim past, something (maybe the same message) popped up and I had to use it.

So, what happens if I reset the keychain to its default?

And, in passing, why do I care about some keychain?

This only started happening about 6 months ago. I had another problem, so called Apple. They charged me $50 as the computer was out of warranty, fixed the other problem over the phone, but kind of downplayed the keychain thing.

Or, should I just live with the pop up and keep pressing the cancel. Otherwise, the MAC works like a charm (I think).

Thank you to all who responded, here and by PM. I did it just like the instructions said (okay, yeah, I did have a little trouble figuring out part of it) and now everything seems great.

Thank you again,

Bob
