In 1991 I purchased a S&W Model 4567. This was a special edition with SS frame and blue slide.

I carried the gun some as a Deputy Sheriff, but mostly just shot it for fun. Later on I sold it.

Today found some old index cards I used to record gun info. I had forgotten the model number of the 4567, but remembered the gun fondly. After finding the index card I did an internet search on the model number and found several entries regarding 4567's.

One was a post made on this forun in 2009 regarding a 4567 a member had purchased. His gun appears to be the same one (serial number) I purchased in 1991!

So Ron, if you are still a member - glad you have her. Wish I had kept her.

That's pretty neat! :) It is a small world (had a small-world experience last week, myself), isn't it? (from Erich)

It is a small world. I'm surprised at how many famous people I've met or been close to. I've even met another member of this forum! (Bob Bettis, at a gun show.) I hope he'll forgive me for saying that Heidi Klum was more visually impressive! :D (She was opening a new Victorias's Secret store in my favorite mall.)

And I once had a chance to buy back a Colt .45 auto that I'd sold several years before.

The "small world" event of my life was probably meeting David W. Arnold in person after we'd corresponded years before, when he was a cop in Rhodesia. He's gone now, but I treasure some little animal carvings that he sent me while he was still in Africa. Many of you know that he emigrated to the US and eventually edited, Petersen's Handguns. His book, Shoot a Handgun, published originally in his native South Africa, is the best that I've seen on its subject.

Oh: I also met Dr. Donald Johanson whose expeditions discovered the famous Australopithicine fossil that the press calls Lucy. He very kindly autographed my copies of all of his books, despite being uneasy about having received death threats from religious zealots who oppose his belief in evolution. I think there must have been 30 cops around him. He gave a wonderful presentation that night, although he must have been seriously worried.

P.S. What does a 4567 look like? I know the 4566.

The 4567 is like the 4566 except it has a blue slide on a stainless steel frame. It also came with nite sights.
S&W did not make very many of them (note: I did not know this when I sold it).

The bottom one is a 4567 (with Hogue grips)

Nope, mine is a one owner. Bought it brand new in Richmond VA in 1991 right after I came home from Korea.
