I just won a M12-2 RB 2" from GB and hope to add some things to make it more personal and a better carry gun.

First it will get a bobbed hammer and a smooth face trigger. Next up is an action job if needed and finally....a new, more durable finish.

My question is: what is a good choice for a CCW gun that will most likely be carried IWB and in hot weather? I suspect the hard chrome is the most durable, but I really would prefer a dark finish. Any suggestions?

Birdsong is local and minus the wait comes very highly recommended. I like the fact it won't rust even after the coloring has worn off.

Thanks guys. The Black T finish looks pretty good. I forgot that I had an old Spyderco knife with the same finish and it was very tough. Coupled with the price difference between that and Roguard, it seems like an easy choice.

I just thought of another: Duracoat. Anyone have any direct experience with it? Tough, cheap, garbage?

My vote would go for a M60-7. Has all the features you need - nothing you don't. Will last you a lifetime or two!
