went to the Dells last week, we stopped in Madison and went through the Wisconsin heritage museum amd the Wisconsin Veterans museum both were very good.

Thursday in the Dells i couldn't catch my breath, so Friday afternoon we drove home and about 8 pm I went to the ER. I spent until this morning in the Hospital I was diagnosed with sudden cardiac arrest. I now have a monitor/defibulator on my side and some new meds. In 90 days I will see if I can losre the difibulator or need a real one.

I never felt any symptoms except the shortness of breath but high BP and chloresteral will do it.

I am at home now, was released yesterday. I have a life vest monitor/difbulator on. I am on several medications and 2000 mgl a day sodium diet.

I had breakfast and lunch which were ok but not what I am used to. Went to Shooters and happened to run into my friend ken who has been off work for about year due to his illness.

I will be going back to work on Tuesday and will follow my doctor's instructions, I plan on excercising more and eating less to lower my bp I will be wearing the vest for 90 days and taking the medication for the same length of time so by that time I hope to be in better shape.

I didn't have any symptoms except shortness of breath so it was a suprise on friday. Thanks for your kind words.

Hope you get better and do what your told,Oh and don't let those "HOT" jail house momma's get you all stirred up

Glad you made it OK!! Lots of people don't survive sudden cardiac arrest if there's no defibrillator nearby.

Get well soon.

Best of luck.

I may be reading too much into your "not what I'm used to" comment about food, but are you are finding the low sodium diet hard on your taste buds?

The taste buds are part of it, but I am also used to larger portions. But that was part of the issue. My weight, high BP so i will get used to it and down the road I will eat pasta again. I am looking at low sodium recipes for stuff.

Get well Stan. While I'm not having the heart issues bp and chlor yes.

On some good good meds to regulate them both. Plus I got a recumbent bike in the basement. Spend 15 to 30 min's a day on it. Also quit smoking in Feb. I watch my carbs and salt. Can't get used to turkey burgers and no eggs killing me.

Guess our mess hall days of 3 egg omlets covered in SOS are over.. LOL..

Prayers out too you Bro...

2400 mgs is a teaspoon of salt. I'm surprised you're allowed 2000 mgs. The labels on processed foods like canned stuff are misleading. The industry is allowed to average out fat and salt content in processed food. A year ago I found myself 60lbs. overweight and experiencing shortness of breath. I cut out 90% of processed foods and lost 40lbs. I'm on BP meds and have been for 10 yrs.. After the weight loss I don't feel like playing hop scotch, but the breathing is much better and BP is way down. Sorry to bore you with my deal, but you can see the parallel.

My wife just bought some ground turkey, more home made soups than canned now. and i have been fantasizing about a 3 egg hamand cheese omelet.

Yesterday it was tuna for lunch and I cooked a piece of fish in olive oil. I can have ll the fresh fruit and veggies I want, so grapes and apples have replaced chips and cheese pop corn. Though the McDonalds commercials seem to be on all the time I would guess I could have half a fry and be over my daily limit.
