I was at a show this last weekend, not really looking for anything, but just looking when I came upon a US Marshals etched S&W 3rd gen. I dont remember the model, or even the caliber, but I do know the price tag on it said $550. I also know there was something on the slide under the ejection port. Something about a bicentennial?? and there was the badge etching near the muzzle.

Bummer I didnt have the $$$ to grab it.. Maybe next time.

Punisher,

I was at the last Lakeland (Fl) show and saw the same thing. Was NIB, with all docs & box. Price was $1350, so I passed. :)

The weapon is a 4516 (unsure of the dash number) all stainless steel in .45 auto.

now that you mention it, it was a 4516 dash unknown. I remember saying to myself, thats gotta be one heavy M-Fer to carry all day...

This one was not NIB, and I dont even know if it had the box or extra mag. But she sure looked perdy!!

They were the -1 engineering revision. The serial numbers were USMxxxx. The BiCentennial text and the US Marshal badge were CNC milled into the slides.

The US Marshall Bicentennials were made in 1993, supposedely only 500. Most were -1, there is some no dashes. Mine is #118 and its a -1.

ok, now you guys got me thinking.... I should be kicking myself in the butt for not leaving with it....

I saw this post and called a buddy that is a U S Marshal. He recalls the commemorative gun but did not buy one because they were not allowed to carry them even if they bought one... and he is happy with his Glock 22. Recalls their price was about $300 and does not think the orders came close to the amount of guns slated for production. He had limited interest and some of his recall may be off a little.

Tommy Lee Jones should have used one in The Fugitive. :)

What, Sam Gerard use a "nickel plated sissy pistol"?????

(I know, it's not nickel plated, and it's definitely NOT a "sissy pistol." And, in my opinion, superior to a Glock in many ways.)

I wish I still had my 4516...it was a tank, and a pleasure to shoot.
