M&P 45 compact mag release

I have noticed that I sometimes have a "released" mag on my 45C when I carry.

Since this is a big "no no" as the pistol wouldnt be ready to fire the second shot, I made a slight modification to my pistol today to compensate.

I removed the mag release (VERY easy), and filed down a slight bit, the mag release button so that it would be harder for the mag to release inside the holster.

After reducing the button a bit, i did file two parallel ridges so that there would still be some catch for my thumb.

It appears to be the fix.

Anyone else had this problem?

I had mag releases during firing on my 40c. Turned out to be a faulty part. S&W replaced it and it works well. It's possible you altered a faulty part. What kind of holster? Perhaps altering the holster would have been a better route. Either way, I hope it works out well for you.

Magazine release

I have this problem with my M&P 45 when holstered concealed, I will get a random magazine release. I know one day it will fall out on the floor. I have considered taking some material off the release button. The release button actually sticks out past the frame.
Anyone else ran into this or found a shorter mag release?
