I just bought my pistol about a month ago. This being my first gun of any type, im not a pro when it comes to malfunctiond. At the range this past weekend, I was loading on one the stock mags and it seemed like the mag spring was etting stuck when I loaded rounds into it. I loaded about 8 or 9 rounds in it each time, and they were all loose inside the mag. I could shake the mag and visably watch the rounds wiggle around like they was no spring tension.

What is the proper lube technique for these mags and what could be the cause of spring malfunction in this mag? Any tips on repair or replacement will help.

Thank you.

It sounds as if you magazine spring may be either stuck at a point inside the magazine, or broken. Does the follower come all the way to the top of the magazine under tension, when the magazine is empty? If this is a new pistol, it is unlikely that the spring has worn out. In any case, the rounds certainly shouldn't be loose inside the magazine.

Have you disassembled the magazine? If not, you should, and see if you can tell what is going on. You should clean the magazine and make sure it is dry...it doesn't need lubrication, unless you want to use silicone or dry lube. (There are plenty of threads here on magazine cleaning, or on YouTube as well.)

Ya, the follower does come back to the top when empty, just as I load it gets down to mid mag and thats when i notice the rounds are loose and the tension is off. I have not disassembled the mag yet, im researching proper ways as we speak. I think I have the jist of it after watching a few vids. Seems simple enough.

If you load the mag all the way, does it still rattle? Does it feed right if you use it?

Try smacking the base of the magazine in the palm of your hand after loading 2-3 rounds until completely loaded and see if it helps.
