hey guys, does anyone know when the model of 1988 started and ended, sure appreciate any advice.
also on the crane
were they marked 627-0 or just mod 627
thanks folks

From memory, there were about 250 or so 627's made, maybe with 1988 on the barrel. There was a design change, can't remember what it was, at the moment, and the remainder of the 5200 or so were marked 627-0 with the the 1989 on barrel. There will probably be someone along soon to refine this comment.

nightowl,
thanks ,i have a chance at one,and the barrel is 5.5 inches,so it had to be for the model of 1988 gun,but this is the only one i have seen that does not have the model of 1988 stamp on it.i did not know there were model of 1989 stamps also

by me,especially when it comes to guns that are not normal,or have something different about them.

You are thinking of the 625s not the 627s in regards to the 1988/1989 roll marks.

The change from the 627 to the 627-0 was to use a larger bolt and corresponding stop notch. The extra mass of the unfluted cylinder was battering the notches.

colt.i am going to find out in the morning.if the gun shipped in the serial number range of the model of 88 or 89 guns, then it has had the barrel replaced.only thing i can figure out
thanks colt

There is no 627 model of 1988.
Production of the 627's started in 1989 as the 627 no dash with 274 made then the 627-0 followed that same year.
