product code help M66

Can someone help me out with product code 102703 for a M66? I do not have my book in front of me.

I know from experience that product code 102702 is a standard issue 2.5" bbl

I came across a empty M66 2.5" box

special order:

4066 4184

any help will be appreciated

102703 = 2 1/2" S RB RR WO SG, produced 1984-2001

S= Stainless
RB= Round Butt
RR= Red Ramp Front Sight
WO= White Outline Rear Sight
SG= Synthetic Grips

I Have a M66-3 2.5" BBL product code 102702, book stated product code 10702 was a standard issue 2.5" BBL. I called S&W and was told it was a Lew Horton run so whats the difference in codes?.

Also, on product code 10703 my box doesnt show SG on grips or features just RB -RR-WO which I understand

The difference between a 102702 and a 102703 is the white outline rear sight blade.
A 102702 is a standard 2.5" M66 with a red ramp but plain blue rear sight blade.
A 102703 is the same thing only it also has a white outline rear.

When is your 102703 box from? Prior to 1994(ish), it wouldn't show the SG. After they introduced the rubber stocks, it would.
If the Spec Ord number is 4066, it looks like they were still shipping with wood stocks in Mar, 1994.
