I came across a Highway patrolman, while its not a 4 or 5 screw its a 4 inch N frame and its in like new condition. I don't have one but love old N frames with 4 inch barrels. It has the original grips, no box. The serial number is N7XXX so it appears to date it to 1968 or 1969, the grip has no diamond around the screw 1968? and is numbered to the gun.

Any info is appreciated.

What is the going rate for one of these in Like new condition 99.9% finish?

Thanks

I think N1 came out in 1970 so an HP in the 7,000 range is likely from that year. An ultra nice 4" 28-2 would probably sell for $500-$550. More in some areas.

Just for your reference, I bought a NIB 28 6" from 1980 from a dealer for $800. Expensive? Most here will say yes, but how many NEW IN BOX HP (not good looking, not really nice, new!) with all the papers are there left?

If the buyer is happy that's all that matters but there is no way in this world or any other that I would pay $800 for a 6" 28.
