I would be interested in any and all experiences a with Aflac insurance. Do they pay out as they claim, was it cost effective, customer service etc.
A friend of mine has become an agent and talked about it over coffee this morning- It sounds good, especially since I am the sole financial provider for the family- but I am always dubious about things that sound really good, they usually aren't.
thanks for any info- jo

I was an agent for a while, and I can tell you Yes, they pay out as they claim.
If there's cancer in your family history, you want to listen carefully to your friend.

We like it!!

My wife signed us effective Jan 1st this year. Heart attack #1 was in late Feb. and yes they paid. Just today my wife faxed off to them the claim for heart attack #2.
Their website has all the forms you need to download, print off and get your doctor to fill out.

Disability Insurance

Disability Insurance can be a real god-send. I am permanently disabled, and have a small policy that I took out before the disability occurred. I sure am glad that I took it out. The policy is with another Company not AFLAC, but I have never had any problems with payment from them. The key there, I think, is that it is obvious that I am totally disabled.

Just be sure that you can afford what is being sold to you. There is an old term out there that is: "Insurance Poor." That can happen if you are not careful.

Best Wishes,
Tom

The best way to purchase disability insurance is through an employer as a group purchase. I believe AFLAC has a program that will handle this without any expense for the employer. As a group, you get the benefit of the "average" health care underwriting of the entire group. This can go both for and against you depending on the overall health and age of the group. The more young healthy individuals in the group the better.

They are what they say. They pay fast without the hassles of other companies.

Glad everone here has such a warm fuzzy feeling for AFLAC. I think that they are a bunch of rotten B*******. When I needed them they were no where to be found, could not even get the agent that sold the policy to me to contact me. They are CROOKS of the worst kind!

My wife is a broker in the insurance business. Her company does not even offer anything like AFLAC. Sometimes in an extreme situation it would be nice to have but in most cases you pay and get nothing. The seller is the one making money. IMHO I would not buy it.

My wife and I each had family cancer policies when she was diagnosed with cancer. We got our two initial checks about ten days after filing ($10,000). We had to travel a round trip of 608 miles for her chemo treatments and stay in hotels. Aflac paid out for every claim we filed. I would do a commercial for them.

All I know about them is that I would like to strangle that sarcastic goose in their commercials.

I hate that goose more than anything else in TV ads.
