I never dry fire any gun........my main concern being that there is no primer to "catch" the firing pin and it will eventually peen the bushing hole.

Trust me, I have bought used S&W's that have been dry fired a LOT and in one case in particular on a 10-5, the peening was so bad on the bushing I had to touch the pushed out metal with a file.

For example, even though Ruger says it's OK to dry fire their revolvers, I still don't. I have several that I bought used with outward peening on the bushing hole.

I would never fire any of my centerfires without a snap cap in a designated practice area with a backdrop that would stop any bullet from exiting the house. Mine are 3 level III vests hanging in the garage with cinder blocks behind them.

Can not only damage your revolver over time but have seen more negligent discharges from folks dry firing their EMPTY weapons than any other way. One was with a former SEAL who's now a deputy sheriff who blew out his picture window practicing his trigger control with a CZ-75 on a blackbird setting on a tree branch. I triple check the chamber/chambers and make sure it's a purple snap cap before commencing practice. It can happen to ANYONE, no matter how well trained you are in one second of forgetfullness.

alright i guess no dry fire on this guy, was asking casue i dry fire my glock and kahr all the time
