I never dry fire any gun........my main concern being that there is no primer to "catch" the firing pin and it will eventually peen the bushing hole.
Trust me, I have bought used S&W's that have been dry fired a LOT and in one case in particular on a 10-5, the peening was so bad on the bushing I had to touch the pushed out metal with a file.
For example, even though Ruger says it's OK to dry fire their revolvers, I still don't. I have several that I bought used with outward peening on the bushing hole.
