617-6 Round or Square Butt?

A friend wants to change the grips on his 617-6. Do these guns have a round butt or square butt?

They started the round butts with -1's. While there are some square butt -1's, everything after that is definitely round.

Is there any way to "adapt" Pachmayr square frame grips to the round butt???
 
markush, Thanks again, that's what I needed to know.

I like the grippyness of the Pachmayr grips and the Presentations and S&W target grips fit my hand very well.

Plus the Pachmayr grips are cheap.

My friend shot one of my 17's with the Presentation grips and he liked them much better than the Hogues that came with the 617.
