So I got my Apex DCAEK and took the gun apart to install it.

Seen the video?...they talk about the sear sping plunger begin tiny and to be careful not to lose it....

Well, after dropping the new spring in i found the plunger riding completely on top of the whole, so I took my flat headed punch and put some pressure on to make sure it traveled freely.
As I was doing this I heard an inner voice telling me to stop, because I was going to slip with the spring compressed and it will fly...well I didn't stop...and it did slip...and the plunger did fly...away.

So here I am with not plunger....checking with S&W, nope wont sell you a plunger and all parts inside are restricted...have to send the gun in for 4 weeks.

So i search around...found the entire sear housing assembly on sale but not the plunger.

So I thought I contact Apex, maybe they know where I can buy one. But it was Friday evening past their open hours, but I thought what the heck, I'll fill in their web form.

Come Monday I receive a call from from Jon at Apex, calling to make sure I only lost the plunger and not the spring too!!
Said he drop it in the mail no problem.

So today I received a little envelop in the mail, only 2 days later, a new plunger free of charge!!

Hows that for customer service!! Particularly as I lost the original one due to my own stupidity.

Again, if anyone from Apex reads this board, lots of thanks and kudos to you.

Hi mikaelo,

Thanks for your post! Jon and Claire have taken on much of our customer service workload (so that Scott and I can focus on new products). They are both top notch in being helpful and knowledgeable about our parts, and the M&P system on general.

I am glad Jon was able to help you out.

Randy & Scott really helped me out once too. Enough so that I had to buy an extra $100 or so in parts to make it fair! I wish their business ethic was a bit more common! I really appreciate their efforts, and am very happy for them in their success.

Small does not even begin to describe the plunger. I had the same concern as you when installing mine. Sure enough, I pushed a little too hard. Crawled around my floor with a magnet for 45 minutes before I found it.

Note to others: The plunger does not snap into the spring. Do not push. :-)

Now I need to order two more for my other M&Ps.

Randy and the people at Apex are revered in the revolver world. When you deal with great people, you get great results

Another + for APEX. I installed the FSS today, called them twice with questions. First, I didnt know what the blue spring was for, it went with the RAM. Then, I called them back, asking about the correct orientation of the trigger spring. Not only did she help me, but she explained WHY, which to me, is just as important as how. Its good to know the people on the phone know what they are doing.

I called them back a third time, not to be a pest, but to thank them. I called from the range, the FSS and RAM simply made that gun. It was amasing, and when someone really does something right, I believe in telling them so.

I ordered 2 USB kits by accidentand sent an e-mail saturday morning and got a return within 4 hours! I wont go anywhere else for my m&p parts!
