Default Got my first s&w, really impressed

I got a new 908. took it out and shot the hell out of it. yes i know it has plastic novak style sights (gets a great, sharp sight picture) yes i know it has a plastic guide rod. and yes its not the smallest compact 9mm around. but i am truly a fan now! it shoots tiny little groups even with my failing eyes, the trigger is really good in both double and single action, it eats every thing i put in it and it is really comfortable to shoot and carry(after years of carring a full sized 1911.) i just wanted to say im glad to be a new smith fan, dont know why i waited all these years to get one. now im considering an m@p compact in 40 or 45. I really hope this isnt a start to a new obsession. just wanted to show my new found appreciation. BB

I really like my 3913, the 908 clone. I have 7 S&W's, 2 Rugers and a Desert Eagle. I think S&W makes a very fine firearm. If it is the start of a new obsession I'm thinking it could be a whole lot worse.

what is the difference from the 908 and 3913. i think its just a plastic guide rod, sights and maby checkering on the front strap. im not sure if i want a metal guide rod in it because of the alloy frame, it might wear a larger hole in the frame(even properly lubed) and cause problems. i am eventually going to update the sights, really want the novak tritium night sights. other than that all i did was add a patch of skateboard tape to the front strap and i might put some houge grips on. im lovin the 908. and yes, i will be buying more smiths in the future.

S&W makes as nice a gun as anyone. I have many of them and trust them without question. You will enjoy your new gun for sure.

My tastes run more toward guns made in the 1960-1995 time frame since they are mostly made from metal but any S&W is a great gun.
