Holster Maker Links
It was 2009 I think when a member posted links to probably 20 holster makers. Lots of fun to look thru and very handy for someone wanting a new rig. I've been looking for it with no luck, anybody got any idea where it is? Seems recently a very high percentage of questions I see pertain to what holster to buy. If we could find this thread and make it a sticky I think a lot of people would use it.

I tried to cut-and-paste this post, but it didn't paste the links, but here's a big list:

Nice list, but I did not see Ray Cory at Lobo Leather listed.

You can add: Holster HQ to the list.

Interesting comment! There have been numerous posts since Ray sold the business, including one from Ray himself. Yours is the first negative comment I recall seeing of probably several dozen comments others have posted.
And, no, I haven't done business with either incarnation of Lobo Leather, so I have no personal experience since I make almost all of my own holsters.

I'm curious if you have dealt directly with them or have you just heard about bad experiences with them? I think Ray was very selective in selling his company, he did not want the name to "go bad".

I own four lobo holsters. I won't continue to do business with the new owners. There are plenty of actual custom makers who will not only listen to the customer but work with them to make what they ask for within reason. Asked for one of their in the waistband holsters to be just a little lower riding than how they currently make it for my skinny body and discretion reasons. I literally got a lecture on how it would affect my draw stroke, affect the way I carry blah blah blah.
Contacted a different maker and he was more than happy to discuss with me what I was looking for and make something to my liking. I couldn't be happier. I suppose if you like just what they make and everything is cookie-cutter then that's great for you. The product is good. Just didn't like the response and customer service. That's my personal experience. My money goes elsewhere from here on out.

May I ask what you base this on?
I did my research and called the new owners to order one for my new PC627. There are quite a few "good" reviews on the new owners and so far I am very pleased with them. I am due to pick my new holster up from them soon. I only live about an hour away and will be very interested in seeing their shop. I posted about this here http://smith-wessonforum.com/gun-lea...lobo-iowa.html and will update thread as soon as I pick it up.

A holster maker who makes a holster exactly like a customer asks for, but knows the customer will not be satisfied with, usually gets blamed for making the substandard holster, even though he did exactly what the customer asked for. It's a no win situation really.

Back to the OP.
My two favorite holster makers:
Leather - R Grizzle Leather - Home
Kydex - Comp-Tac Holsters | Concealed Carry | Competition | IWB
There is a new guy local to me who makes Kydex holsters. If anyone is interested I can give you his contact, but he's limited on what guns he can make for.
