Default I Need a Good Belt for CC

I'm a newbie to CC and was wanting a good quality belt to carry my Alien Gear IWB holster and an extra mag or two. Do most guys carry extra mags and an led light on there belt. I won't have a gun mounted light but will be in a lot of night time senarios as I put in to fish at a lot of remote dead end locations on various lakes and come in at dusk to dark.

Happy with my Bullhide. Suggest you run a search; this question comes up regularly and there are several good threads with plenty of leads.

Most who concealed carry have at least one extra magazine, speedloader or moon clip at hand. Flashlights I just clip to a pocket.

Situational awareness. You need to find new fishin' holes.

I carry extra magazines and a flashlight where ever I go and I use a Wilderness Tactical Instructor belt.

I give pretty much this advice every time this topic comes up

Get a purpose designed gun belt and what ever kind you get follow their sizing instructions to a "T". If anything size the belt a little bigger than you think you need

I just put mine in my pocket but the belt still has to carry the weight

Another vote for Bull Hide. Got my one and only gun belt from BH and am extremely satisfied. Don't have another gun belt to compare it to but mine is good.

Another Beltman fan.
A good gunbelt should be dual layer, this will keep it from stretching. I don't care how thick a single layer leather belt is, it will eventually start to stretch. Unless you are carrying an extremely heavy sidearm, you don't need the internal stiffener that many sell.

It frustrates me that folks pay a lot for a good carry gun and then cheap out on the belt and holster, which are as important a part of the system. I've been wearing my Beltman belt every day for at least five years; that breaks down to about a nickel a day so far. A cheap belt I would have had to replace several times already, so this is actually a great cost savings over time!

Check out the Wilderness Instructor Belt if you are interested in a non-leather option. Personally I prefer a nylon belt for everyday wear.

I needed a new belt for my jeans. My local Co-op had them marked "Amish - Made in USA" for $ 30.00. Best belt I've ever owned. Heavy duty, good leather and fittings, it should last a long time. And FWIW, I compared it to a Carhartt. The quality didn't compare and the Carhartt was $ 8.00 more. And if it matters, the Amish belt is made in the USA. At least some of Carhartts are made outside this country.

I am a fan of Shoemaker Leather. The firm builds everything to order and includes some larger size belts (if you need one, don't ask me how I know). Here is a link to its belt page:

Belts

I use the 254 as a pants belt. With a lining it is both sturdy and strong. I carry a holster on it all day long and a small ammo pouch. I also use Shoemaker's 273 belt as a "duty belt" for carrying a larger firearm, speedloaders, and ammo slides. I do not wander out in the woods much but I do keep a mini-Maglite in the car.

You will be happiest, in the end, with a real gun belt.

Mine are Galco Contour, The Beltman or Wilderness..ALL with internal stiffeners.

Best.

Beltman!!
Worn the same one for 6 years, not a single blemish or wear mark, and holds heavy firearms with ease!

I make my own belts, holsters and other leather products so I can't recommend a brand. I designed my daily carry snubby holster to work with a standard 9 ounce belt.

I hang my flashlight on the off side in a homemade holder.

I did make a matching belt and holster for my wife's 66-3. The belt's all hand stitched of double layer 9 ounce veg. tan and holds her revolver up very well.

I bought a 2nd Bullhide tonight after seeing this post. Black to match some of my black holsters and just because I wanted a new belt. They are nice.

I'm very happy with my Armour Belt. You might want to take a look at them.
