Carrying a 686 IWB
I'm probably nuts, but I'm looking for IWB holster ideas for my 2-1/2" 686. If you carry one of these little monsters, I'd like to see pics of your carry rig. I've checked the websites of several holster makers and have some ideas, but I'd like to see pics of what you carry.

I have a 4" 686. I do not have one yet but I am thinking of getting a Tucker Texas Heritage for it. I recently got one of these for my 4 3/4" SAA clone and I have carried it several times. If you have the right body shape for it, it works great. With a little effort you can conceal anything.
You may want to try this to see how this will work for you. UNLOAD your 686. Put it in a cotton sock so you won't scratch it or hurt yourself. Put the UNLOADED gun, in the sock, in the waste band of your pants (where you would put the iwb holster) and tighten up your belt. Carry it like that around your house for awhile and see how it feels.
Good luck and let us know how this turns out.

I don't think you're nuts at all for wanting to carry a 2.5" 686 IWB. I recently ordered a holster from Lobo for exactly that purpose. Although I haven't test-fired my 686 yet and am therefore not ready to carry it until I do so, I have tried it on in the house and Ray's design really soaks up the weight and bulk of the firearm. When you draw it makes you wonder where that big boat anchor came from!
It's really all about choosing the right holster.

watchmanjimg, would you post a pic of your holster with the gun in it? That's exactly what I'm looking to see.

Crazy? No. I've carried my 4" 681 IWB. These days it usually gets carried in a shoulder holster only though.

When I carry my 3" CS-1 or one of my 3" 681+ PC guns, it is in a Sparks VM-II. Works great!

I have a SW 686+ with 3 inch barrel. I ordered a Milt Sparks holster August 1st so I only have 28 weeks left to wait.

+1 for Rays holster. He made one up for me just like Watchmans but for my 4 inch 686 in black. I also ordered one of Rays belts for this holster and it really helped support the weight..I use the belt for all my holsters now. Turn around time was real reasonable..about 2 weeks.
