Open carry in Florida
I just saw this on the local news. Lawmakers are trying to pass Senate Bill 234, which will allow CCW holders to open carry.

While I'm not personally a big fan of open carry (seems like it would make me an easier target), I like it for the reason that if you should flash or print for some reason it wouldn't be a big deal.

I agree 100%. Not like you wear a lot of clothes here to easily conceal.

Good luck with that bill.
The opponents of open carry here in OK last year made it sound like we all wanted to carry double buscadero rigs and a rocket launcher into Wal Mart.
Our governor vetoed the bill, so we elected a new governor and have to start the legislative process all over.

Based on a previous thread that may cause severe anxiety among vacationing LEOs from a couple States. Fortunately only a very few though. ;D
If my understanding of Floridas laws against printing or flashing is correct this change is long overdue. Way too easy for someone to accidentally commit a crime on a windy day there.

This is not a problem here as law enforcement is generally very supportive of carry. You're more likely to get a "here's how I avoid that problem" hint from police rather than a hard time.
I wish they'd let this open carry and the carry in schools go for now and move on to more productive issues. The time to address these will come but now is not it.

I agree with you, all the same reasons.

I'm not personally a big fan of concealed carry (seems like it would make me an easier target). It just depends on how you look at it.
The BIG issue to me is that we should ALL be supporting EVERYONE'S right to carry as THEY deem right for them at that particular moment. Not that the poster quoted above implied that, but I just feel it's important to say that we need to support everyones right to carry. Once something gets taken away it seems like it's easier for the next thing to be taken too.
