My wife started carrying (when she got her CHL) my Sig p229 in 357 sig, then she swiped my Colt Officers ACP, and now she has 'transitioned' into a Sig p239 in 357 Sig....she has OWB's, IWB's and purses for all occasions....in the house, she can access and shoot anything that we own (including the anti-aircraft artillery)

My wife will soon be carrying a Taurus TCP, pink frame with a black slide LMAO!!!! I tried to talk her into the all black finish but it didn't work unfortunately. I think it's a very sturdy little gun and think she will be very pleased with it. So far she is pretty excited so that's good I guess. She will definitely need a lot of range time!

Be careful with that Kimber I used to carry mine in a fanny pack, and twice I took it out and found it had gone OFF safe, and this was with a round in the chamber.
I was very active both times , but I still think it should not have happened.
I made a molded pelite pocket with bumpers added to hold the safety up in the safe position. It hasn`t happened since then, but is still there , so now I have switched to a revolver, so no more worries about unsafe semis.

My better half (unless she's angry) carries a S&W 332Ti in a Kramer IWB (the one with the shearling next to your skin) and she still likes her HK P7 for home defense.

Default My wifes arsenal

My wife spent four years on active duty with the Army and several years in the Army Reserves (93P) so she is very familiar with the M-16. I keep a couple Ar's around the house in case things get really bad, but she prefers a revolver for self defense and keeps a 649 in her car and a 442 in the night stand. I keep a few revolvers around the house for her and a G-21 in the coffee table. She also has a Grendel R-31 (sn 997) and a Citori Micro, but they stay in a safe. She knows how to use them all, so I try not to make her angry.

The wife, who has her Ky CDWL, carries her PPK/S in a "Gun toting Mama" purse. I want her to take a look at Rugers new LC9 if we can ever find one. She keeps her model 36 on the bedpost.

My wife carries an Airweight Centennial I bought in 1972.

We live in the country and shot has also killed several 40+" snakes with Speer Shotshells.

When she goes a hunting, she carries a 4" S&W 44 Mag Mountain Gun...

She keeps a Rem 870 loaded with 00 Buck under her side of the bed as well.

642 with CT grips in special purse and a Seecamp .32 somewhere else.
Some things I don't ask.......

She carried a Mod 10 snubbie as a duty weapon, and it still does night stand duty.

My wife does not cc due to the nature of her employment. For home, she liked the G-22 in .40 S&W so that's what I bought. She does very well with it out to 15 yds. Stays on the nightstand along with cell phone. When I'm on the road overnight, she puts it under my pillow. We have a good dog in the yard, security lights, locks, etc. By the time anyone can get in the house, she'll call 911 and then be ready for whatever needs to be done.

My wife carries a 642 Ladysmith, loaded with DPX, carried in a soft Tex Shoemaker IWB holster. She also always carries an HKS speedloader loaded with DPX and has a Bianchi speedstrip she sometimes carries in addition.

Mine confiscated my Sig Sauer 226. I was surprised that she liked the "fat" grip. The Houqe wood replacement grips helped.

At her CCW class the instructor allowed her to move her target back to the 25 yd mark and demonstrate to the class how to shoot. All 15 rds in the black.

Three inch model 37.
Carries it day in and day out.
She had a man scare her when she went to her vehicle at the hospital after getting off a 3am. She's carried since then.

We have a friend who, during her junior year at college came home for Christmas break and looked like warmed over dog doo. Being the sensitive kinda guy I am, I ask her what the heck was wrong. She aid that she was taken by a serial killer in her apartment at college. He tied her up, raped her and planned on killing her. He went out to get some more beer, for the weekend party with her, but she was able to get loose and fled the apartment. She got to a phone and called the police. They were there waiting for him when he returned.

She came to me and said her father would give her the money to buy a gun if I would teach her to shoot. So on the next Saturday she came to our house and my wife and I went with her to buy a pistol in the big city close to our small town.
I ask her how much her father had given her and she said, "Fifteen hundred dollars." This was 1973, her mother and father are Jewish and had fled Germany in the early 30s.
They didn't like guns and had none in the home. Good folks.
He father was a Chemical Engineer at a major oil refiner.
Lots of money and no sense.

I ask her what type of gun she wanted and she said one that goes bang. She ended up buying a Walther PPKs, a Browning HP and a Remington 870P. And plenty of ammo to pratice with. She learned to shoot all of the guns and never had a problem with recoil or flenching. She married a Competive Shooter she met at the local range. She carried the PPKs from the time she got it till she passed her CHL Course about twenty years later. Before CHLs were permitted, I ask her one time if she wasn't afraid of getting hung out to dry by LE if she was caught with the gun. She said that she knew that she would get out of jail if she was arrested for CPW, but she didn't think she could get out of a coffin if she was murdered. She said that she was never going through an incident like happened to her in college.

She and her husband were "Standing in the Door" for the first
CHL Class in Travis County. She still carries every day and night. And a lot of time when she's at home out in the yard.

So far it seems several ladies are carrying either the 3" steel framed J-frames or the Airweight versions.

Ditto for my wife . . . a 3" barreled Model 37 Airweight. In a firearms course taught by a law enforcement instructor, he told her that she shoots better than most cops he trains.

My wife doesn't care for brass-chuckin' bottom feeders; preferring the simple, "point and shoot" reliability of wheelguns.

Here favorite two are her 3" Airweight for CCW . . . and a 3" Model 65 .357 for home defense.

Smart lady . . . and one who has the firearms to give her the confidence anyone needs if trouble comes suddenly.

My gal really likes a full-sized Colt Model 1911 that we have around here and she shoots it very well. She also makes use of a Smith & Wesson Model 642. Unfortunately, she insists on purse carry, not wishing to work her wardrobe around the handgun.

She likes to have the M1 Carbine handy around the house.

Wife carries the Ruger LCR. Daughter carries the S&W 642 Airweight. Daughter-in-law carries a 4" Taurus 357. I own as many autos as revolvers but we all rely on the wheelguns for SD. Wife attached the Uncle Mikes IWB holster to inside of her pocketbook.

Although she learned to shoot on a Model 39, 40 years ago,
and shoots everything from a J frame to a Model 29,
Combat Commander 45 and Glock 26,
she prefers revolvers. So in a Cannon box resides
a Ruger SS Speed Six 2 & 3/4 inch 357 with Pachmayr Compacs.
It's loaded with Buffalo Bore 158 +P's.
Beside it are 2 Safariland speed loaders with Corbon 357 DPX.

Default She has an old large purse that she carries with her when I'm not home...

It has a Smith Model 15 4" , loaded with 125 grain Remington +p JHP's, and with 2 speedloaders of the same in it.
I bought that Smith for me, but she shot it and kept it...which is actually fine by me. She loves that old revolver and she is deadly with it, which is very reassuring to me.

FWIW, she is a nice Jewish girl from Philly who was raised anti-gun. I taught her to shoot using an old Rossi .357 magnum...the first time she shot it, she said," Wow! This is GREAT!"...

She has been chronically ill for many years now, and her familiarity with that Model 15 gives me comfort that she can defend herself when I am not there.

I also have several other S&W revolvers in different places at home that she has fired and knows they all work the same...

She loves that Model 15 and is ready for spring so we can go shoot together in a month or so.

My wife had been carrying a Ruger LCR in her purse, but after taking a class at Gunsite she switched to her M&P 9c in a Crossbreed Supertuck. A purse is a prime target for the BG's and she finally decided body carry was a better choice. A Mossberg 500 12 ga is the gun of choice at home.

I am the wife.....

I carry a BG 380 in a Remora (cross draw appendix) for most of my daily travels. I also have a CC purse for other situations but rarely use the purse unless I have to. I have a couple other holsters that I haven't really used simply because they don't work as well as I thought they would.... I'm looking for another tuckable IWB for crossdraw appendix carry - something small, and easy to put on, comfortable, etc.

I've been looking at the BG 380. I like the feel, but haven't shot one. How long have you been carrying & do you like it? Thanks. His better half

Sorry for the late response.... I've only been carrying for about a couple months. I like it...it's nice & small. It's been flawless for the couple hundred rounds thru it so far - and taking it apart and cleaning it is a breeze. I use the longer mag extensions just so my pinky is ON the gun. I wish it had white dot sites (instead of black posts). The laser is a nice training tool.

The wife uses a dedicated purse as her shape doesnt conceal very well. She has a 4" 629 stuffed with .44 spl GD lol. She shoots it Very well and is comfortable with it and likes the recoil. She is also 5'3" and never has complained about the weight lol.

My wife stole a very nice German Makarov pistol from me many years ago. I'll never carry it again, because it is with her 24/7.

Mine does not CC but her favorite is the old faithful s&w model 10 in the nightstand, but honestly she can shoot any of my handguns as well (or better) than I can... Kahr PM9, S&W 3913, Llama 380, Glock 19...

My wife's favorite carry piece is a Model 60; and has the holster wardrobe to go along with it! Her other two carry choices are a Para C7 LDA (45 ACP) and an HK USP Compact (40 S&W). Between these three guns, I think she's sporting more than 12 different holster rigs to go with whatever she's wearing.
