I gotta ask... What would Skeeter do?

Seriously, there's nothing wrong with the guns that a little Mothers Mag won't cure.

I used to carry one, but one day, some girl-scouts, selling cookies, jumped me, took my Ladysmith, and tickled me until I pee'd my pants. It was a very humiliating experience. Why do you have to dredge up these painful memories? Have you no sympathy?

I want one, the prices are usually lower and they have nice features. Question : When I get one and carry it, does that count as cross dressing?

I, as well carry a 631 LS. Great caliber and if I need to use it, don't matter if the bad guy got killed with a Lady Smith or a Registered Magnum. Dead is dead, as long as I'm the one walkin away!

For those of you that chuckle about the Lady Smiths, just remember:

I have wondered if you pulled a gun with pink on it if
you would be taken seriously. Would the aggressor think
it was a toy or a wimpy gun and continue attacking you.
Just a thought.

An officer got a call one night and had to take an unplanned trip home. When he returned another officer noticed a set rosewood stocks when his pant leg rode up and asked about his new ankle gun which he removed and cleared to show the other officer. The other officer took great joy in telling everyone else that sissy boy was sporting a Lady Smith for a bug.

Turns out the call was from his sister saying their mother was taken back to the hospital and it was not good. She wanted to see him one last time. He knew she was never really happy with him choosing the career he did. To show him she was proud of what he was She gave him the only thing she had that she knew would help her protect him even after she was gone, a Rosewood stocked Model 60 Lady Smith. She passed that night.

The teasing continued and finally he had enough one night. One of the Mr. Macho officers said something questioning his manhood and asked why he carried that "girlie gun". He very calmly said "You may not know this but my mother passed away. On her death bed she gave me this gun. I carry it to honor her and always will" and went back to his paperwork. There was silence in the briefing room for a long time.

I saw him a not too long ago. I asked if he still carried the LS. He said "Grandma now watches over the newest officer in the family." His daughter just finished Field training and now rides solo. Papa is beaming with pride, Mama looks worried.

Funny story. I bought my wife a new Model 65 in Ft. Morgan,CO one day in the 1990's. The next weekend we took it to the range for her to try and it was loaded with .38's. After 12-18 rounds she came over and said there is something wrong with this gun. I asked what? She said it doesn't shoot straight.

I said let me try and put .357's in it. No kidding 1st shot , 15 yds. , dead through the middle of the orange circle. I dropped the other 5 , reloaded with thirty eights and said practice darlin'! It is still in her bedroom and I am in the process of finding her a gun to replace it. Seems it is almost a collectors item. She's probably going to own a Governor.

That's what happens when you don't wear glasses when buying a gun - you think you're buying a Laddie Smith.

I do not recall the model # but back in the day, I carried a LS .32 Magnum Revolver for several years. I loved that gun and I am so very sorry that I let it go many years ago.

I carried it in my pocket, in a small OWB leather holster, that I cut the belt loop areas off of.

I wish I could pick one up in really good condition!

Default 3913LS

I have a 3913LS that sees carry duty on a rotating basis, hoping to find a LS revolver to add to the roster.

For you guys with the 65 LS, how does the shroud affect the gun, say compared to a standard three inch 13 or 65. I don't have an LS, but I always loved the look of the 65 LS.

On another note, I never the jokes against the LadySmith, I mean it would make sense if all the LS models were .22s and .32s. But a screaming .357 full house Magnum leaving the barrel of Model 60 or 65 is about is tough as it gets!

Overall the balance is similar, with some subtle but meaningful differences.

The standard 3" 13 and 65 are heavy barreled revolvers; the 65 LS (except for a few very late in their run) are standard barrels with an ejector shroud. This changes weight distribution.

I feel the weight of the standard 13s and 65s a little higher and more forward, whereas the 65 LS drops and centers its weight.

Both point and shoot well, but I think the difference favors the 65 LS; it's a little more balanced in my hand rather than front heavy.

I'm always amused when some folk take exception to "Lady Smith" on a revolver; they're a little insecure about it, I guess.

What's wrong with always having a good looking lady on your hip?

I think I am going to etch Manly Smith on my stainless 4" N frame 45acp/colt. No it isn't a model 625. It was a 629.

I never owned one as I figured the grips would be small for my rather large hands and there are other choices out there besides.

I took my wife into a gun shop once to buy her a gun and was thinking a Lady Smith might be suitable as she'll shoot revolvers only. She wasn't impressed with anything we saw and decided instead one of my revolvers would suit her just fine. Okay with me as I have some to spare. She wasn't at all impressed with pink or other nontraditional colored guns either.

Now if I could get her to get her pistol permit and go shooting more often I'd be happy.

Joined the ranks today-

3914 Ladysmith in 85% condition with 4 mags for $300 OTD. It will hopefully replace my 3913 (after a vigorous test session), as I prefer the single safety lever, and black carry guns over stainless in general.

I will somehow get over the logo on the slide, as I don't believe it will matter to the intended target.

I was really, really planning on moving into the polymer era with my next CCW, but dangit, those things just call to me, like a puppy at the shelter. I'll probably wait until Glocks are no longer produced.
