Shoulder holster question
Why is it that all shoulder holster rigs have the magazine pouch dropping the magazine upside down? Seems to me that it makes more sense to have the magazine right side up without a snap release or open top for ease of reloading. Or have the magazines horizontal with a snap release....also seems awkward to reach across my body so far that I have troubles getting to the farthest one. Just wondering.......

Then shouldn't all mag pouches be upside down so that gravity is at play all of the time?

It depends...some people like the horizontal since they are easier to grab....you don't have to go under the mags to get them...if they were right side up, they would be even harder to access...I had an Alessi rig with a single horizontal mag holder...I liked it because it was easy to grab and used a magnet so it didn't even need a strap...of course, today, so many mags are plastic, it would not work for them....and a single horizontal also doesn't hang as low, if that matters...

For me, I do not want to have to pull a mag upward in the event I need a spare mag quickly.
Nor do I want to have to pull one forward with my fingers when mounted horizonally.
About the only time I use my dual mag carrier is when I am having to qualify and that means two mag changes for reloads. All I do is unsnap a compartment and the mag falls into my hand. While the mag is being retreived, the mag in the gun is being dropped so it is ready to receive the fresh mag. Takes practice to get used to this type of multi tasking but it is something that can be done around the house during boring spare time.

I like to pull my mags forward out of the carrier. I have the bottom type too but as I'm a Big boy it's easier for me to pull them forward. As for pulling them from the top from a shoulder rig thats sounds to me as being too slow.
Just my 2 cents.

I've solved the problem. The off side of my shoulder rig contains another gun.
