Default Bodyguard 380 IWB holster(final version)

A few weeks ago I posted a picture of the first IWB holster I made for the Bodyguard 380, It wasn't quite finished because I wanted to test it out for a while before making any more. Here is the final version in a more finished look. I'll be making them with a belt clip as well. Next on the drawing board is a pocket holster.

McCabe has done a very nice job on this project.

One of the inherent challenges in making holsters for the very small automatics is maintaining adequate space around the grip-frame so that the weapon can be easily and securely gripped during the draw. The nicely radiused seam behind the trigger guard does a good job of overcoming that challenge.

The bulk of the weapon is contained under the belt, so retention is maximized. The mag release is completely clear of the leather, avoiding the possibility of inadvertently releasing the magazine. Good forming work, nicely molded around the trigger guard (which also enhances retention).

Very good design, nicely executed.

Best regards.

Lobo,
Thank you for the comment, that means a lot coming from you as I've always admired your work and all your posts on the other forum really helped me when I got into leatherwork, and still do for that matter.

Thank you, sir. I wish you nothing but success, and your work indicates that will be the case.

Best regards.

There's no issues with the laser coming on on any of the BG holsters, I mold out a space over the button to prevent it.

Thanks,

No problem, It's not the best site but I get just as much work as I can handle from it so if I invested in a new site just to turn away work it doesn't really make sense. If I can ever increase production a new site will be the first thing I get. For now I suppose it's my workflow regulator.

I'm pretty sure you took my post wrong if you heard a message loud and clear, I wasn't discouraging you from ordering a holster from me. You made it clear you weren't because my site "frustrated" you too much. So I'm sorry if you took it the wrong way. I'm not exactly sure what your issues are with me, you obviously don't know me, I'm sure you wouldn't find anyone whos done business with me and wasn't satisfied or wouldn't consider me " friendly". I also dont understand why if you actually wanted a holster you wouldnt have either emailed me directly before going on a public forum saying that my site or paypal frustrated you. This was a really old post btw.

And yes there was time for "free promotion" I posted one post on two forums regarding the Bodyguard, that's it. That was in October of 2010. My customers have taken it from there, they've all been awesome about referring me and I'm very grateful for all of them. Free promotion keeps prices down. A lot of larger companies put a bunch of their money in promotion and advertising and use cheap labor in China and inferior materials, I'm simply taking the exact opposite approach, I use the best materials and skimp on advertising and fancy websites. My site will eventually get replaced with something better and easier to use, there are just more important tasks at hand right now, like setting myself up to be able to handle an increase of orders.

If you or anyone else has any questions or wants to contact me directly my email is [email protected]

I'll make it simple like I thought I did my first post.. I had a hard time on your BLOG, just wanted to order a holster... saw the pictures, posted how great your product looked....I guess I expected you would respond with a NP, what do you need? Maybe a little instruction on what to do. Didn't expect you to tell me that's how you regulate your work.. kinda figured since there was no offer to sell me your product, I took it you were telling me to pound sand, so I pounded sand... started looking at other web sites for a holster.

Well we must have had a big misunderstanding because I didn't read your first post like that. I didn't want to come off as a shameless salesman trying to sell a holster to someone who doesn't want one so I said "no problem" and agreed that my site wasn't the best. Id be more than happy to help you or anyone else out with getting into a holster. If you go to the links on the left hand side of my page you'll see ordering info, price list, galleries etc. All of my orders are done with email, this allows me to control the orders or at least be able to give a fairly accurate eta.
I would like to have a better site but it turns out I'm more proficient with leather than I am with building websites and for now I can't justify the cost unless I'm willing to take on at least another employee to help out and I'm not ready for all that yet. That doesn't mean I tell anyone to pound sand, although there are times when I decline certain jobs because of one reason or another.

Anyway since the original post last year there has been a few modifications as well as other options to the BG holster such as a tuck able version with 2 clip options and OWB pancake holsters. The prices are all listed here McCabe's Custom Leather: Price List
Contact Billy@mccabescustomleather to order.

An excellent job and interesting design with all the features Lobo posted about. Congrats on such good work.

I also want to than Lobo for his commentary. I find this forum excellent for such, in that those with lots of experience never fail to help those with less - rather thank immediately taking on an adversarial position, so common on other sites.

As to the little maker vs. potential customer flap... doesn't help either and probably isn't something to post on an open forum. That said - I do hope both of you can come to terms. Good luck.

Looks like most of the designs are in the $80 range...

That was a quick reply. That is correct as well. Depending on what options you want they range from 70.00 and up. 70.00 is the base price which includes the belt loop, the additional features like metal or Jclips sweatshields, thumb breaks etc all cost a bit more.
I believe the previous poster already linked to my site but it's McCabe's Custom Leather. This is a newer site than the one that has been talked about previously in this thread. You may want to check there for additional photos to because the original ones in this thread are one of the very first so the design has been refined a bit.

My direct email is [email protected] if anyone has any questions.

Thank you.
