Default Mika Pocket Holster

A while back there was a thread that had several members
commenting on the good qualities of Mika's holsters. After reading
all those positive remarks, I got one from him, myself. Everything
said is true, plus, one for a j-frame fits fine for more than one style.
My thanks to those members, and to Mika for a great holster.

+1 on Mika's pocket holsters. Great holster at a reasonable price. My model 38 resides in one for about 4 years now, daily carry.

The first couple of days you use it, it feels bulky.
After that, you'll never look for a different pocket holster.
My 340 PD lives in one every day. Nights too.

How would a Ruger SP101 do in a j frame mika holster? I know people around here love his j frame holsters.

I have two of his J Frame holsters . One is a square bottom and the other is round, it all depends on what style of pants I am wearing. Either one rides nice and is each to draw from.
I could not be more pleased.

Ditto. The round bottom for my Wranglers and the square for cargo pants. Like it so much, I end up carrying the Bodyguard more than my Commander. Just seems so easy to slip in in my pocket when I go out the door.

Carl - I think you'll be pleased. I have one for my 66 2 1/2". It works fine. wg

However I should have mentioned that you'll need a larger holster. Mike makes them as well.

Default RESULT OF FREE ADVICE

Here's the result of listening to others; new holster, & new 442.
Can't see any problems here, TACC1.

Carl, just specify that it's for a SP101 and Bob will fix you up with one specifically for your Ruger.

I just received one from him the other day, which I think makes my 10th Mika PH, and they all do their job well, very well indeed.
If they didn't I wouldn't keep going back for more.........

Only problem I have with mine is that dirt and lint gets in the bottom inside down near the muzzle and rubs the finish off like sandpaper. Not the holsters fault. I should clean it out more often.

TACC1, that 442 is pulled out of the holster slightly for photo purposes right? I'm not familiar with Mika holsters but have seen them mentioned here and there as "good to go"...but your photo makes me question how deeply a 442 sits in one.

markush,
Yep, pulled partway out for pic purposes. I wanted to show off both items. You'd have thought a guy would outgrow that sort of thing.
In this pic, you'll notice that the trigger-guard is completely shroude by the holster. Draw and re-holster are really slick. I can only use this at home or the private range due to Wis. laws, so you can bet it didn't
take too long to break it in. I am very impressed with it. TACC1

How long was it for the holster to arrive after you ordered it? I ordered on the 22 of March and have heard nothing as of today - 4-8 - 11. Mika's site says 2-3 weeks.

Just curious.

dagored'
It was about a month. I can't be more specific, as all my e-mail
disappeared due to an "upgrade" which we got whether we wanted it
or not. I'm sure it wasn't longer than a month. Just shoot him an
e-mail. Heck, he even talked to me!

I have had a Mika RC for four years. My M&P 340 with CT Grips feels very at home in it.

642 used to ride in it.

Pretty slick, and the holster still looks new. Looks like all quality leather
will still be around long after I'm gone. TACC1

I had a Mika's pocket holster for a G26 and it was probably the best pocket holster I've ever owned. The only downside was that he was backed up at the time and it took me three months to get it. I'm tempted to see if he could do one for my Kel-Tec PF9, but I'm waiting to see if I'm going to put a laser on it.

i use the holster for my g27 for my 442, works fine...try it.. Robert Mika is a retired LAPD copper and is a total stand up guy, a lot of fun talking to him on the phone...lot of fun talking about the job and how it used to be....great guy..

After reading this thread, I ordered one for my Ruger. It only took a couple weeks to get it. I could not be more pleased with it. Drawing and reholstering is smooth and easy.

The "J" frame model also works just fine with a Colt detective spl. Actualy I think the Colt fits in it better then a "J" frame.
